Why don’t you add other vitamins or minerals to your foods?

Answer

We don’t fortify any of our foods with vitamins or minerals. This is because fortifying foods isn’t permitted under organic standards unless it’s required by an overriding law (for example, the law about thiamin). We believe that feeding babies a variety of foods is the best way to get the various nutrients they need.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Show On Product(s)
Answer

All carton board that we use is fully recyclable. We would love for all our packaging to be fully recyclable, but unfortunately we do have some challenges, in particular with flexible film, which we use for our puffs among other foods, that enables us to meet our strict food safety and quality standards and ensure our food stays safe to eat. We care a lot about protecting our natural environment and are always looking for ways to improve what we do. We're currently working with packaging experts and running trials with potential suppliers of biodegradable film and have set a target to make all of our packaging fully sustainable by 2023.

My child has an allergy. How can I find out which of your foods would be suitable?

Answer

We have different levels of risk regarding the presence of allergens or risk of cross contamination in our foods, and we want to give you as much information as possible to help you make a decision as to whether the food is suitable for your circumstances.

There’s a few ways you can find out:

On our packs

  • Any allergens that are present in our foods, including cereals containing gluten, are shown in bold in the ingredients list.
  • We also declare which allergens our foods may contain in our Safety Advice section on pack.  We carry out a risk assessment to determine whether an advisory statement is needed and try to avoid a blanket ‘may  contain' statement on our foods, as this can be equally unhelpful. Just because an allergen is present in the same factory, it doesn't necessarily mean there is a risk of cross contamination, and if this is not stated on our packs then the allergens are fully controlled to prevent the risk of cross contamination.

On our foods pages

  • Where you can find all the allergen information about each food.
